Dear co-workers:
It's a library. Really, a library. Yes, that means we DO have to put things in alphabetical order. LIBRARY=ALPHABETICAL ORDER! No that does not make me rigid and uptight...well, not any more than other library workers.
I realize it would be easier for you to just dump the books anywhere. Normally, I devote my life to making your's as simple and thought-free as possible. This one is non-negotiable. It's a library, you're holding fiction. Learn the alphabet and use it!

The lawsuit between JKR and uberfan Steve Vander Ark has caused a huge rift in fandom. The pro-SVA side is often categorized as DH haters or Over-zealous shippers. However, I think much of the Pro-SVA is made of fan fiction writers. These are the people most likely to use the Lexicon, the biggest fans. These writers also understand the desire to take some of HP and make it your own. There's really no way to measure but I'm betting that many of the pro-SVA come from this group.

Interesting. I've been following the JKR/SVA trial and admit to being on the JKR side. I find plagiarism, or its legal term of copyright infringement, abhorrent. For me, that's the crux of the issue. I think the book is infringing. But, I'm not a judge so I await the verdict.
There is much on the internet regarding the personal life of the author, SVA. Is this relevant to the book? It depends on whether the issue of character, integrity or credibilty are relevant. To copyright...I guess not. To the trial at large, sure. Character matters. Whether its SVA or someone offering evidence or making a counterargument.
More and more BNF's are being drawn into the argument with each side accusing the other of hysteria and mud-slinging. Suddenly, everyone's character is being attacked. It will be interesting to see if the fandom feud of doom continues beyond the verdict.

That said, I'm completely offended by Steve Voldermark, or whatever the last name is that I'm too lazy to research. I do think he's ripping off JKR's work to make a quick buck. I find his actions, both professional and personal, contemptible. I don't know if he's mired too deeply to try to salvage this mess but his "poor victim me" act wears thin. Sadder is how deeply invloved so many fans seem to be. I wonder if those on the losing side will be able to accept the judges ruling? Or will they hash out endless debates over its merit/worthlessness as with the epilogue.
Ah, but still boring.

Really, I'm incredibly dull, unimaginative, mundane, common and utteringly and unrelievedly boring.
